Commissioned to make an art work for the Munincipal

Theater Arts,  I thought of making something suggest

dramatically and fascinatingly the stage arts which

used to project the depth of human mind so delicate

and mystic as to compel us to look into.  The streaked

appearance given by high-transmission glass and

ordinarl sheet glass interlaminated in the image

upped above may look too noisy and decorative.

The high transmission glass was indispensable,

however,  in order to absorb more light into

the inside of mass of glass so to enjoy more

dynamic and complex interaction of different lights.

覗き込みたくなるほど繊細な心の深淵を投影する

舞台芸術。その奥深さを暗示するような、

劇的な面白さを秘めた造形。

設置場所が芸術劇場と告げられた時、

すぐ思い浮べたイメージだった。

写真ではわかりにくいだろうが、

（高透過硝子の角柱の上に載っている）前面が

えぐられたような角錐形の凹みをもつ

正六面体（真四角）の塊。その前面の姿が前掲の

正方形画像、今回の正方形画像はその背面。

撮影時の照明はいずれも作品の背後から。

高透過硝子と通常の窓硝子を交互に重ねたのは賑々しい

装飾性を求めたのではなく、透過率を高め、

塊の内部により多くの光を取り込み、

それぞれ異なる反射率や屈折率がより複雑な

相互作用をすると期待してのことだった。
