Let’s talk  about another film.  ‘Under Control’,

the documentary film started shooting three years ago 

in Germany where the current Government had

turned toward denuclearization about eleven years

before.  Without adding his own comments at all,

the director was sedulous to shoot interiors of

gigantic nuclear power plants or reactors

decommissioning, to result in creating the images

surrealistic,  or even diabolically glacial beauty.

Many people would be stunned by the visual

reality of the facilities and feel their hearts frozen

by the  netherworlds of nuclear-waste repository

on 600 meters underground.

もう一つ、映画の話を続けよう。

「アンダー　コントロール」。すぐ思いつく数種類の

訳語のなかでどれが最も的確な邦題なのか

その答を探るためにも是非見なければならない。

出かけていった。十年余り前から脱原発に向った

ドイツで、三年前から着手された廃炉や

原発関連施設の記録。時々技術者や研究者など

現場に携わる人々の説明が入る以外、

作者自身は何も語らず、不気味な美が凝縮する

未来空間のような巨大構築物を、ただひたすら

黙々とカメラで追う。鋼鉄が詰まっているような

その沈黙は鋭利な刃先を観る者に突きつける。

推進か廃止か、と。地下600メーターの部屋に並ぶ

放射性廃棄物。東京スカイツリーの高さに近い深さ。

それだけでも、恐ろしい。
