瀧　川　嘉　子
Yoshiko Takikawa

 11歳より村井正誠氏に師事。絵画や立体造形の基礎を学ぶ。高校・大学時代に女流画家協会展、モダンアート協会展などに出品。1965年、絵画の個展活動を開始。1981年、板硝子を積層した立体作品を発表。以後、板硝子に石や金属も併用しインスタレーションを展開。洞爺湖彫刻公園、鎌倉芸術館のほか、公共空間に委嘱制作多数。
芸術選奨文部大臣賞、他に受賞多数。慶應義塾大学、ニューヨーク大学大学院で美学美術史を専攻。

  Started to have Solo exhibitions of oil paintings in 1965. Had the first solo exhibition of sculptures with laminated sheet glass in 1981.
Since then on, frequently invited to participate in major international group exhibitions of glass art.
Started in 1986 to use stones, irons, or stainless-steel together with sheet glass to make 'installation'.
Made many comissioned works for public or architectual spaces.
Education: majored for the aesthetics and the art history as undergraduate at Keio Gijuku University and as graduate student at New York University.
